General Description
The Winter Wren breeds throughout Canada from northeastern British Columbia east through Newfoundland and south through the Upper Midwest and New England. This species winters throughout the eastern U.S. from Iowa east to the East Coast and south through the Gulf States (Sibley 2014). In Montana, this species has a single record over the last 10 years (Montana Bird Distribution Committee 2012).
