General Description
Small rounded body with short neck and tail. Reddish plumage with gray and black highlights. Head white with dark crest and stripe below and behind eye.

Range Comments
The species is not native to Montana, but has been widely transplanted. However, self-sustaining populations have not become established and it is believed that animals that continue to be observed in the wild are human released.
