State Rank Reason (see State Rank above)
This species recently has been split from B. hesperium, although it has not yet been formally published (Donald Farrar, Iowa State Univeristy). Some of the sites for B. hesperium almost certainly belong here. See B. hesperium for additional information on habitat and characteristics which are very similar.

This enity would be included within the concept of B. hesperium as used by the Forest Service on their Sensitive species list.
