General Description
Perennial bunchgrass. Stems 20–60 cm, with a bulbous base. Leaves: blades 1–2.5 mm wide, mostly basal; ligules 1–3 mm long. Inflorescence a contracted panicle, 3–10 cm long. Spikelets 4–15 mm long.
