State Rank Reason
Only var. sitchensis occurs in Montana. Collections are available from Lake, Missoula, Ravalli, Glacier and Flathead Counties. Described as "common in wet, shallow soil of cliffs and streambanks near or above treeline" in Glacier National Park (Lesica 2002). Its habitat generally does not appear to be at risk.
