General Description
Stems terete, branched, often with globose glands at some nodes. Submersed leaves linear 1–6 cm × 1–2 mm; stipules 5–30 mm long, sheathing or not but quickly fraying. Floating leaves absent. Spikes 5–12 mm long, continuous or with distinct whorls of flowers. Tepals green, 1–1.5 mm long. Fruits 1–2 mm long, obscurely keeled with a short, curved beak (Lesica et al. 2012.
