General Description
Stems 10–30 cm. Leaves: blades 1 mm wide. Inflorescence a narrow panicle 2–8 cm long. Spikelets 6–8 mm long. Lemmas with an awn 6–11 mm long (Lavin in Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
