General Description
Perennial bunchgrass. Stems 20–60 cm. Leaves: blades 1–2 mm wide. Inflorescence a contracted secund panicle 4–11 cm long, usually <1 cm wide. Spikelets 4–7 mm long, the fertile ones with 2 to 5 florets. Lemmas 3–5 mm long, mostly awn-tipped (Lavin in Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Range Comments
Collected in Ravalli County; introduced mainly in eastern and western North America (Lavin in Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
