Collected once in Montana along the Kootenai river near Rexford prior to the creation of Lake Koocanusa.
General Description
Cormose. Scapes 20–40 cm. Leaf blades lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, 3–12 cm long. Inflorescence a raceme of 1 to 4 whorls; bracts ovate, 4–10 mm long. Flowers unisexual, female below the male; sepals oblong to ovate, reflexed, 4–5 mm long; petals rhombic, white with a yellow, clawed base, 7–10 mm long, erose-margined; stamens 6; pistils 6 to 10. Achenes compressed-obovoid 3–6 mm long with a beak 3–6 mm long, spreading at maturity, tightly packed in a wheel-like head (

Range Comments
MT, OR, ID, NV, CA. Collected once in Lincoln County at a site inundated by Lake Koocanusa (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX ).
