	Perennial from a branched caudex covered in old leaf bases. Stems simple, erect to ascending, 4–20 cm. Leaves petiolate, basal and cauline; the blade cordate-orbicular to reniform with shallowly lobed to crenate margins, 1–5 cm wide, pubescent. Inflorescence a leafy-bracteate, glandular panicle. Flowers 5-merous, regular, perfect; sepals erect, 3–5 mm long; petals clawed, the blade obovate, purple (white), 3–5 mm long; stamens 10; ovary partly to wholly inferior; hypanthium campanulate, 4–8 mm long; styles 2.
