General Description
Stems erect, 3–20 cm with glabrate foliage. Basal leaf blades reniform, 1–3 cm long, 3- to 5-lobed . Flowers with petals 8–12 mm long, ca. twice as long as the sepals. Achenes glabrous or sparsely brown-hairy, ca. 2 mm long with a curved or straight beak 1.5–2 mm long; heads cylindric, 5–8 mm high (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Ecology
POLLINATORS
The following animal species have been reported as pollinators of this plant species or its genus where their geographic ranges overlap: Bombus auricomus, Bombus bifarius, Bombus nevadensis, and Bombus bimaculatus (Macior 1968, Thorp et al. 1983).
