General Description
Stems to 40 cm with hirsute to nearly glabrous foliage, prostrate and rooting at the nodes to occasionally erect. Basal leaf blades ovate, 1–8 cm long, ternate; the 3 petiolate leaflets lobed and toothed. Flowers with petals 6–15 mm long, twice as long as the hirsute, deciduous sepals. Achenes flattened, 2–3 mm long with a hooked beak ca. 1 mm long; heads globose, 5–10 mm high (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
