General Description
Glabrous, monoecious, rhizomatous perennial with reddish foliage. Stems ascending, branched, 15–40 cm. Leaves all cauline; the blades thick, lanceolate to ovate, 3–10 cm long; stipules scarious, conspicuous. Inflorescence a simple or few-branched panicle with well-separated flower whorls. Flowers perfect; outer tepals 3–4 mm long. Fruit reddish, 20–25 mm long; inner tepals orbicular, cordate-based without callosities. Achenes brown, 5–7 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012.
