General Description
Taprooted annual. Stems erect, simple or branched, 30–80 cm. Herbage glabrous. Leaves cauline, subsessile; blades lanceolate to ovate, 5–15 cm long, 1 to 2 times pinnately divided into linear, sometimes lobed segments. Inflorescence paniculate, leafy-bracteate, with nodding tips. Involucre hemispheric, ca. 1 mm high, wider than high; phyllaries green, glabrous; receptacle glabrous. Disk flowers perfect, 5 to 20, glabrous; corolla ca. 1 mm long; yellow. Achenes glabrous, <1 mm long (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).

Range Comments
Introduced to most of U.S.; native to Eurasia. Collected in Toole and Yellowstone counties more than 70 years ago (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
