Habitat
The habitat of the Tule Bluet includes marshy and open lakes, prairie reservoirs, ponds and pools as well as slow reaches of streams and rivers. This species is moderately tolerant of saline conditions (Westfall and May 1996, Acorn 2004, Paulson 2009).

Food Habits
Larvae feed on a wide variety of aquatic insects, such as mosquito larvae, other aquatic fly larvae, mayfly larvae, and freshwater shrimp.
Adult- This damselfly will eat almost any soft-bodied flying insect including mosquitoes, flies, small moths, mayflies, and flying ants or termites.

Reproductive Characteristics
Male Tule Bluets and mated pairs perch along shorelines and on emergent vegeation as well as fly over open water. Copulation and oviposition site selection are lengthy. Often tandem pairs, but occassionally single females, oviposit in standing bulrushes on the surface as well as submerged below the waterline (Paulson 2009).
