General Description
A year-round resident of west of Pacific coastal states from Washington to the southern tip of Baja California where they generally occupy dry scrub and oak woodland (Curry et al. 2017). In Montana, the species is vagrant with only two records of well photographed birds near Great Falls in 2000 and at Thompson Falls in 2010 (Marks et al. 2016).
