General Description
Stellate-pubescent biennial or perennial. Stems simple, erect, 1–2 m. Leaf blades orbicular, 8–30 cm wide, 5- to 7-lobed with a cordate base. Flowers in a spike-like raceme; involucel bracts triangular; petals ca. 5 cm long, white to rose or purple. Schizocarp with >15 sections (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
