General Description
Perennial from a simple rootstock, sometimes with bulblets among roots. Stems solitary, scapose, erect, 7–30 cm, glandular-hairy. Leaves all basal, glabrous, petiolate; the blade ovate, 2–6 cm long, entire to weakly dentate. Inflorescence glandular, paniculate, open or congested. Flowers: calyx cup-shaped with lobes 1–2 mm long, sometimes purple-tinged; hypanthium 1–2 mm long; petals obovate, white, 1–2 mm long; ovary inferior at anthesis but ca. 1/2 superior at maturity.
