General Description
Stems erect 1–2 m; twigs purplish. Leaves deciduous; blades 2–8 cm long; stipules quickly deciduous. Flowers 3–4 mm across. Capsule globose, 2–3 mm wide (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
