General Description
Glabrous, succulent, rhizomatous perennials. Stems ascending to prostrate, 4–20 cm, leafless below. Leaves opposite, 4–10 mm long, sessile, narrowly elliptic to oblanceolate, entire. Flowers solitary, sessile in leaf axils; calyx campanulate, 3–4 mm long; the spreading lobes as long as the tube, petal-like, pink to white; corolla absent; stamens exserted. Capsules globose, 2–2.5 mm long, opening by 5 valves (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
