Diagnostic Characteristics
Variety decumbens can be distinguished from the other varieties by the following combination of characters: Hairs both simple (basifixed) and forked at base (dolabriform), hairs stiff and not twisted, leaflets elliptic to oblanceolate, petals mostly purplish.
