General Description
Perennial from a tightly branched caudex. Herbage villous. Stems erect, 30–60 cm. Leaves with 15 to 33, linear-oblanceolate leaflets, 20–35 mm long with rounded tips. Inflorescence exceeding the leaves, dense with 20 to 50 slightly declined flowers. Flowers white; calyx black-villous; sepals 2–5 mm long; banner 15–22 mm long, moderately reflexed; keel 11–15 mm long. Legume pendant, linear, glabrous, grooved beneath, 15–30 mm long with a stipe 6–10 mm long (Lesica 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
