General Description
Stems 5–40 cm. Leaves 1–7 cm long; Flowers: calyx 2–3 mm long; corolla blue, 3–4 mm long, 1–3 mm across the limb. Nutlet body 2–3 mm long; marginal prickles in 2 to 3 rows, of different lengths, distinct at the base (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
