General Description
Stems ascending, 5–30 cm, sparsely villous to tomentose. Leaf blades linear-oblanceolate to lanceolate, entire to serrate, 3–15 cm long, sparsely tomentose, sessile on the stem. Heads mostly solitary, radiate; involucre hemispheric, 7–10 mm high; phyllaries in 2 series, subequal, lanceolate, green, villous. Rays 18 to 50; ligules 6–10 mm long. Disk corollas 5–7 mm long. Achenes 2–4 mm long, sericeous (Lesica et al. 2012. Manual of Montana Vascular Plants. BRIT Press. Fort Worth, TX).
